Tanks Patrolling Streets of Kharkiv After Court Bans Peace March

Tanks have started patrolling the streets of Kharkiv, reads the statement posted on the website of Ukraine's Interior Office in Kharkiv on Saturday.
"To augment measures to guard public order, the chief administration of Ukraine's Interior Office in Kharkiv has made a decision to put tanks belonging to the vehicle fleet of the police to the patrolling of the city streets," reads the statement.
The move came after the court in Kharkiv had earlier banned a peace march from being staged.
The March of Peace that was to take place on September 27 against the military actions in Donbas was banned according to a court decision. Anton Gerashenko, adviser to the Head of Ukraine's Interior Office, had earlier stated that the police warned the residents against the accountability and promised to take rigid action if they took part in the Saturday march.
According to police records, more than a hundred people attended the march of which 23 were taken under arrest.
