Boko Haram Sponsor: Hide your face in shame, Wole Soyinka Under Attack

Hide your face in shame; you should know CBN rules – Asu

Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka yesterday came under attack for alleging that President Goodluck Jonathan knows the financier of Boko Haram in the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.

A prominent human rights crusader and Niger Delta leader, Chief Asu Beks, who took up Prof Soyinka on the matter, asked him to hide his face in shame as he declared that more Nigerians are getting disappointed in the way the university teacher comments on critical national issues.
In an interview with Nigerian Pilot yesterday, the public affairs commentator said Nigeria does not need the ranting that emanate from sections of the country, especially as they affect President Jonathan.

He said:
“It is only in Nigeria that people point accusing fingers at the President for any reason whatsoever. In other climes, terrorism is seen and treated as a national concern. I am so disappointed in Prof. Wole Soyinka. People like him should be in the forefront of assisting the President, the government and the country in the war against terrorism.
Soyinka had on Saturday accused President Jonathan of embracing corrupt politicians and refusing to prosecute the sponsors and members of Boko Haram.

He said that he was not in doubt of the Boko Haram sponsorship allegation levelled against former Borno State Governor, Ali Modu Sheriff, by an Australian negotiator, Stephen Davis.
In a statement entitled,

The wages of impunity,” Soyinka asserted that President Jonathan knew the sponsor of Boko Haram in the CBN.

But Chief Beks, who flayed Soyinka over his comments, stated that in Syria and other countries, this global terrorism worries are all over and everybody is collaborating to rid the country of terrorism even “when we all know that it cannot be totally done. And by the way, what does Wole Soyinka mean? He should go and hide his face in shame. Talk is cheap. If he thinks it is that easy, let him go and run for an elective office.”
“As for the allegation linking the President to some financiers of Boko Haram in the CBN, Wole Soyinka goofed again. Like many instances in the past, he has failed again. Otherwise, let him show proofs of this allegation otherwise, he must shut up.”

“But then too, President Jonathan must not concern himself about every gossip. He must not react to every gossip from people like Wole Soyinka because that is what they thrive in to remain relevant,” he said.
