Palestinians Agree on New Ceasefire With Israel - Reports

The Palestinian delegation said it accepts a Egyptian proposal for a new 72-hour ceasefire with Israel, AP reported Sunday.
"We are here to look for an agreement. We cannot have an agreement without talks, so we accepted an Egyptian proposal to have a ceasefire for 72 hours in order to resume the talks," a member of the Palestinian delegation was quoted as saying.
Earlier today, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu refused to return his delegation to Cairo to hold talks on resolving the conflict in the Gaza Strip until Palestinian militants stop rocket attacks.
"Israel will not negotiate under fire," Netanyahu said.

Since the end of the previous humanitarian pause negotiated by Egypt, Palestinian militants fired around 100 rockets on the Israeli territory, including two on Sunday. The fire is concentrated on less populated southern parts of the country, unlike it was during the earlier stages of the campaign. Neither Jerusalem, nor Tel Aviv with 800,000 and 400,000 residents respectively were affected.

In response to rocket attacks Israel targeted 120 objects in the Gaza Strip. According to Palestinian health officials, at least 24 were killed since Friday. The total death toll in nearly a month-long offensive has reached 1,917 Palestinians and 67 Israelis.
