Depressed Security Guard Commits Suicide At Mr Biggs Restaurant In Ogun State -

Circumstances surrounding the suicide committed by a security guard at the popular eatery, Mr. Biggs, at Alagbole, Ogun State, southwest Nigeria, have been revealed.  The security man, who was identified by the police as Bolaji Akinrounwi, hanged himself near the staircase on Wednesday morning with his belt.

He did not leave any note or give any hint of his intention before he was found in the morning by another guard who scaled the fence to open the gate.

However, before he hanged himself, he was said to have deleted some of the numbers on his phone.
P.M.NEWS witnessed the frantic efforts by the manager of the eatery to identify his acquaintances through some numbers found in his phone but all to no avail.  Workers at the fast food restaurant who spoke with P.M.NEWS on the tragedy said they did not know why the man decided to take his own life.
The workers who refused to disclose their identities also disclosed that they didn’t notice any strange behaviour or sign from their late colleague.

“We left him in the complex last night and found him hanging near the staircase that links to other parts of the complex this morning. There was no sign or any strange thing about him the previous day,” a female staff of the eatery said.
Efforts to make the manager of the eatery comment on the suicide proved abortive but he directed our reporters to Ajuwon Police Station where the matter was reported.

“I don’t know his name and moreover, I can’t tell you more about the incident because the matter is already at Ajuwon Police Station. Maybe you should go there,” she said.
Business activities at the premises were paralysed following the closure of the building by the police who took away the corpse. “When the policemen came, they locked up the complex and took some people working there to their station,” a witness told P.M.NEWS.
Policemen at the Ajuwon Police Station confirmed the suicide but directed our reporters to the Police Public Relations Officer for Ogun State Command, Muyiwa Adejobi.
“The matter was reported here and we have commenced investigation. We have picked up some people working in the complex for investigation but I can’t give you further details.
“You can call the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer for details,” th
e policeman at the counter said.
Adejobi confirmed the incident in a report, saying it was a case of suicide. He said no mark of violence was found on the corpse and ruled out any possibility of foul play.
He disclosed that efforts were on to locate the relatives of the deceased who had been taken to the mortuary.
