30 women & children reportedly escape from Sambisa Forest



According to reports, 30 women and children have escaped from the Boko Haram camp in Sambisa Forest. Sahara Reporters reports that a senior military officer who spoke anonymously said the women and children after escaping wandered through the forest and finally arrived the Madagali LGA in Adamawa state. He said they appeared in a village which is a border town between Adamawa and Borno state.

The unidentified security officer however declined to disclose if the women and children are among the over 200 girls that were abducted from the Chibok school. He however said the women and children who have been moved to an undisclosed hospital for rehabilitation narrated their ordeal in the Boko Haram camp.

He said some of the women said they had to leave their little children there due to the horrifying pain they were subjected to.
"They have talked about how some of them who were trying to escape were killed and some forced back when armed Boko Haram militants discovered them escaping.” he said
The Chairman of the Madagali Local Government Area in Adamawa state James Watarda has also confirmed reports of the recent escapees. On Saturday July 5th, reports emerged of how 63 women reportedly fled the Boko Haram camp.
