President Vladimir Putin on Saturday described British Prince Charles' reported comparison of the Russian leader with Nazi German dictator Adolf Hitler as an act of "non-royal behavior."
"I haven't heard this phrase. If it is true, it is, of course, unacceptable. I think he realizes this. He is a well-mannered person. I have met him and other members of the royal family. It's non-royal behavior," Putin said at a meeting in St. Petersburg with the chiefs of global news agencies, Interfax reports.
"In such cases I always remember a good saying - You are wrong if you are angry," Putin said. "Pass it [the saying] to the British prime minister [David Cameron] and Prince Charles," TASS reports.

UK politicians urge Prince Charles to abdicate following Putin remarks
Some UK politicians say Prince Charles should abdicate the throne and stand for election if he wants to express his political views, local media reported.
Prince Charles' recent remarks about Russia's President, Vladimir Putin, have sparked widespread controversy, both in the UK and Russia.
Sir Tony Brenton, who served as British Ambassador to Russia in 2004-2008, told the BBC, "You can't be much more insulting about a Russian than to compare him to Hitler, who killed 26 million Russians," according to Itar-Tass.
Nigel Farage, leader of the UK Independence Party, says Prince Charles was wrong in his comparisons. Farage went on to blame the EU and NATO for expansionist policy in Eastern Europe.
Labor MP Mike Gapes also commented on Prince Charles' comparison: "If he wishes to be in public life, speaking out, saying what he thinks on every issue then unfortunately he should abdicate and stand for election." Gapes also stressed that he thinks the British monarchy should be seen and not heard. He said the "freedom of speech argument" does not apply to Prince Charles.
