At least 11 hurt in explosion, fire in New York's East Harlem




At least 11 people have reportedly been injured after an explosion and a partial building collapse at 116th Street and Park Avenue in New York's Upper Manhattan Wednesday, WABS reports. Harlem Hospital has one patient with heavy trauma and is expecting at least one more.

RT reported earlier that at least four people were injured and taken to a hospital after a building exploded in New York City.


In explosion was reported at an East Harlem building Wednesday morning, PIX11 reports.The explosion happened at a building on 116th Street and Park just after 9:30 a.m., according to officials. A three-alarm fire is raging atop the building.

There are reports that people are trapped after part of the building collapsed.It is unclear what caused the explosion at this time, but Con Ed was requested on rush for a gas leak.Officials are requesting the Metro-North be shut down at this time.One person has been reported injured.
It's not clear what the cause of the reported explosion was, or whether there have been any injuries.
It's understood debris on nearby train tracks has caused the halt of some services in the area.
