Moscow bans adoptions of Russian kids in countries with same-s3x marriages

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed a decision setting limits on adoptions of Russian kids in countries with same-se-x marriages.

According to the documents, posted on the Russian Government website, Russian children can be adopted by heteros-exual married couples of age, with the exception of same-se-x families officially recognized as such under the national legislation, whereby this kind of marriage is authorized, as well as of persons who are the citizens of the country in question and are not married.

According to the report, implementation of the decision will help improve the adoption of orphaned children by Russian citizens and foreign nationals and will ensure the protection of the rights and interests of such children.
The guardianship and custodianship agencies will have to make their conclusions on whether specific applicants can or cannot become foster parents or guardians within 10 days, rather than 15, as before.
Besides, those seeking to adopt a child are free not to submit certificates any more to prove that their housing conditions meet the sanitary and technical requirements.
