I Did Not Ban SSS from All international Airports – Stella Oduah

Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah, yesterday denied allegation that she directed the withdrawal of all State Security Service (SSS) officers from all the Airports in the country.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to the Plateau State Governor, Jonah David Jang at the Governor’s Office, Oduah said the “rumour” was “absolutely untrue.”

“The SSS personnel have come to stay and there is no reason to withdraw them from the airport terminals.”

She told the governor that out of the 16 airports in the country, Jos airport has been chosen as a cargo airport for fresh goods for export.

Responding, the governor expressed joy that the Federal Government picked the Jos Airport as the cargo airport out from a pool of others.

He lauded the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan, which he said had impacted positively on the state and the country as a whole.

Earlier, the Minister visited the Yakubu Gowon Airport where she inspected the level of ongoing work.

Noting that the airport was due for completion, Oduah, however, expressed satisfaction with the quality of work at the terminal.

She urged the contractor to finish work within 30 days or face the consequences.
