Senate stops N4bn first ladies’ mission house project

Click banner for more info

The Senate on Wednesday dropped the controversial African First Ladies’ Peace Mission House project when it passed the N259.65bn budget of the Federal Capital Territory for the 2013 fiscal year without approving the N4bn appropriated for it.
In February when the budget proposal was brought to the National Assembly, it contained N4bn vote for the construction of the mission house in Abuja, a development that attracted a lot of criticisms from members of the public.
The Senate, during the second reading of the bill, questioned the rationale of committing scarce resources to prosecute a less important structure.
Civil rights groups and political parties had also berated the Federal Capital Territory Administration for budgeting N4bn for the construction of the building for a non-governmental body headed by the wife of the President, Mrs. Patience Jonathan.

The US government has seized a Rockville home belonging to former Bayelsa governor, DiepreyeAlamieyeseigha, the U.S. Department of Justice said in a news release last week Friday May 31.

Fedederal prosecutors claim Alamieyeseigha bought the Rockville property during his first term as governor “with funds obtained through corruption, abuse of office, money laundering and other violations of Nigerian and U.S. law.”

Boko Haram Solution: Opinion By Balogun Adesina

Click banner for more info

Unedited From Ọmọ Oódua Reader: Facebook Profile
To solve this problem. Boarders should be secured 24/7 surveillance around the boarders. First thing first. Shipment coming into Nigeria should be searched or scanned. Mighty Scans should be in place. Let them put surveillance camera everywhere in the country to track people. Even the worst place. They should stop using old models. Trace any transfer of funds more than 2,000,000 Naira. . Also, let everyone in the country register their home. ( Lagos about to start). Also the issue of identity and Immigration laws should be in place. Employ the best brains in the IT industry to capture, save and process data. Let access to data be available to TOP officials and the police. Reform the way we police the people.
Maritime reform will create loads of job Both permanent and indirect jobs.  Education too. Education Reform!!! Education reform is not by building more universities or federal uni. The Government is just tooo stupid and useless.. They are not using their brain at all. Why will you let america be helping you fight Boko Haram. OMG! If you trace it very well you will know. Nigerian are smarter than this..

This government is just use-less.

Please open your senses..

Comment Of The Day: NIGERIA FACES SECOND COLONIZATION - MUST READ

Click banner for more info

Fellow Nigerians, the recent FG's effort at classifying Boko Haram as a terror organisation, to my knowledge is both cosmetic and a way to subvert to sovereignty of this Country. Our Sovereignty will be subverted because, in FG's desperation to give Boko Haram international colouration, we are inviting both US and Israeli intervention into Nigeria. This is second colonialism. We will become another Afghanistan, Pakistan and another Iraq, where the US will rule us via proxy.

Drone strikes will be common place and civilian casualties will be treated same way as its done in Afghanistan.
Boko Haram is a domestic issue, as a result of mis-governance, government corruption  poverty, illiteracy, desertification, lack of border control and government's cluelessness.

Insecurity is everywhere in the 36 states of the country but they appear in different forms. We should go to root-cause analysis and not a knee-jerk approach.

NYSC Member Caught Ráping A Female Student

Click banner for more info

Gone are the good days when people treat Corpers with courtesy and sometimes feed them free of charge. These days, it is common to see young guys serving Nigeria under the NYSC scheme struggling to "survive" at their place of assignment. We observed that help is no long as it used to be.
The crux of the matter is that today people don't trust easily. Wearing an NYSC gear is no longer enough to be trusted. And a male Corper worsened this fear recently when he was caught...

The 26yrs old Corper, identified as Amadi Stanley, was said to have taken a 15-year-old girl, whose parent were friendly with him, saying they were going on a stroll. The girl, a secondary school student, wanted to return home after they've covered some distance, but the Corper refused and they started "dragging".
Before the teenage girl could know what was happening Corper Amadi was on top of her and he was said to have forcefully had carnal knowledge of the girl. She was later rescued from him and he was arrested by men of the Nigeria Police Force in Ede, Osun State, where he is posted to.
