Final written addresses in the trial of Akolade Arowolo, the alleged wife-murderer, will be submitted on October 2, 2013. Justice Lateefat Okunnu of the Ikeja High Court has on on Tuesday, September 17, directed the prosecution and defence to file and serve the processes before the next adjournment date.
Arowolo, 31, was apprehended on December 21, 2011, and charged to court for allegedly stabbing his spouse Titilayo, a banker, to death. He pleaded not guilty to the charge and has been remanded in Ikoyi Prisons.

It is alleged by the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions that the accused slaughtered Titilayo on June 24, 2011 in their Lagos residence.
There are 12 witnesses in the case. One of them, Prof. John Obafunwa, a Consultant Pathologist and Chief Medical Examiner of Lagos State, has stated in his testimony that the deceased was stabbed 76 times. Titilayo’s relatives have confirmed there were manifestations of domestic violence in her marriage.
The accused, testifying before the court on May 22, 2013, denied murdering his wife and accused his in-laws for his turbulent marriage.
He sticks to the version where his wife died in an accident, falling on a knife she was using to stab him during a quarrel on his birthday.
