Brian Summer is a member of a grassroots group with thousands of members which held nationwide protests August 6 calling for President Obama’s impeachment.
The group, "Overpasses for Impeachment," has gained steam since launching in mid-June and now appears to have a presence on all 50 states.
The organizing has been done mainly via the group’s Facebook Page, which has spawned Facebook groups in all states, most of which appear to have hundreds and in a couple of cases thousands of members.
The group’s website lists a dozen 'reasons for impeachment,' several of which focus on unilateral actions Obama has taken without the consent of Congress.
"Overpasses for Impeachment" has already staged dozens of peaceful protests leading up to the nationwide event on August 6.
During one such protest Brian Summer was first threatened and then hit by a police officer when the man tried to express his discontend with President Obama's policies. Mr Summer fell to the ground and cried for help when another police officer approached and handcuffed the protester.
The Youtube video of Mr Summer being assaulted by Californian police has gone viral and prompted many Americans to express their resentment and anger in comments.
The user Commander Pyle, for instance, compared the incident with anti-Bush Library protests in Marhc.
"In Dallas, those who protested against the opening of the Bush Library in SMU were removed (some arrested). I don't get it," he wrote. "These laws say one thing, these lawmakers say another. Usually the law is on their side, despite the facts."
Another internet user Pat asked: "So you can only post pro-Obama signs in California unless you want to fight Cal-Tran and cops?"
Her fellow citizen EL ZORRO continued: "This COWARD cops will be the first to be thrown under the bus when the TYRANY takes hold, and their families and children will be the victims of the tyrannical regimen that they are helping to install. Sue the living hell out of the police department, for aggression and violation of the CONSTITUTION."
All in all, it seems that curtailment of Constitutional rights has already become a trend in America. Only last month the US police together with the Transportation Security Agency (TSA) established largely unconstitutional random checkpoints on the road outside Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
Earlier this year, Nashua, NH, residents witnessed armored vehicles patrolling the streets of their usually peaceful town and blogger Pamela Rae Schuffert reported getting numerous phone calls from West Virginia, Florida, and Georgia regarding military transport jets landing in numerous cities across the country
