The affected teachers have been directed to the Board headquarters for interrogation. Daibu, who felt terribly bad when he saw pupils in some schools roaming about during school hours, expressed disappointment with the nonchalant attitude of the teachers to their work.
He warned that the state government would not condone truancy and laziness on the part of any teacher, emphasising that anyone found wanting would be appropriately dealt with. Primary education, he said, is the foundation on which the future educational attainment of children squarely rests.
Daibu urged all stakeholders in the sector to rally round the government in order to justify the huge investment in education.
He lauded the people of Obadara community in Ifelodun Local Government Area for the proper maintenance of the government school in the community, and urged other communities in the state to emulate such noble deed.
