FG Working Hard To Restore Peace – Vice President, Sambo

The Federal Government will continue to work tirelessly to ensure safety of lives and property in all parts of the country, Vice President Namadi Sambo made the promise on Sunday when he paid a visit to the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero.
The Emir recently returned to the country after a medical sojourn abroad following an attack on his convoy by gunmen in Kano.
Sambo’s promise came barely 24 hours after members of an Islamic sect, Ansaru, reportedly killed the seven foreigners they had earlier taken hostage from a construction site in Bauchi Stage.

“It is our prayer that this type of incidence (the attack on the Emir) will not happen again. I also want to assure you and indeed all Nigerians that the Federal Government is working assiduously to ensure peace and protection of lives and property in all parts of the country,” the VP said.
He therefore called on all Nigerians to learn to live in peace with one another in the country, irrespective of their religious, ethnic or political differences.
“For the betterment and development of this country, all Nigerians must embrace peace. That is the only way the present administration’s transformation agenda can work,” he added.
The Emir commended the government for working hard to ensure peace.
He thanked President Goodluck Jonathan for visiting him while in hospital in London and urged Nigerians to join hands with the government for the peace and development of the country.
