Mother Allows Her 6-Year-Old Daughter To Be Sexually Abused By Men For Money

A 36-year-old mother faces up to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to allowing her daughter, six, to be sexually abused by different men for drugs and money.
Authorities say Dalina Nicholas, from Jacksonville Beach, is charged with four counts of child neglect and faces a minimum of 15 years in prison.
Nicholas agreed to testify against four other people charged in the case. She won't be sentenced until those trials conclude.

A charge of battery was dropped against her.
In March 2012 a homeless man flagged down a police officer and told him a child was being molested in a nearby home.
The man said he'd been to the home before to use drugs and had seen several men having sex with the child.
He said the abuse had been ongoing for about two years and he had witnessed Nicholas use drugs.
The man also said he was present once when Nicholas accepted $20 from a man and told her daughter to get naked and lay on a living room mattress so the man could have oral sex with her, police said.
The witness, according to police, said the girl had confided in him that she was being sexually abused and asked him to 'help her make it stop'.
Nicholas' attorney says his client doesn't understand the girl was being abused because of drug and mental health issues.

When a member of the child protection team interviewed the girl, she spoke of sexual assaults by men and physical abuse, according to The Florida Times Union.
Quinn Brooks, 57, and Ryan Harrover, 34, have been charged with sexual battery and lewd or lascivious molestation. John Hagans, 48, and Norman Thompson, 52, have been charged with sexual battery.
The girl was taken into custody and is now in the care of relatives.
