A woman tearfully narrated to a court yesterday how her uncle told her he had killed his two children.
Jane Nyawira said she thought her uncle, James Mwinga was actually joking only to discover that he truly had killed his two sons. In her testimony, before Nairobi high Court judge Florence Muchemi, Nyawira said Mwinga had the day before threatened to kill the boys, aged five and seven if his wife who had left their matrimonial home did not return.
Another witness, Winnie Wanjiru, said Mwinga’s estranged wife had called to request her to check on her two sons’ general well- being. Mwinga himself had earlier called to tell her(his wife) that he had killed their children.
When she went to check on the children, Wanjiru said she found the bodies of the two boys drenched and lying in a pool of blood in their home.
Five more witnesses are yet to testify in the case whose hearing was deferred to May 8th.
