Don’t blame Ajimobi for Folarin’s arrest – ACN

Action Congress of Nigeria on Sunday said Oyo State   Governor  Abiola Ajimobi  should not be blamed for Thursday’s interrogation of the former Senate Leader Teslim Folarin  by the police, the News Agency of Nigeriareports. Folarin was interrogated by the police for close to four hours over alleged plans to disrupt the peace in the state. Also, his Ibadan home was reportedly searched by the police. The ACN,  in a statement  by its  Publicity Secretary in the state, Mr. Dauda Kolawole, said Folarin  the Peoples Democratic Party chief, should stop blaming others for his problems.
The statement said, “We urge him to face his ordeals squarely in the hands of policemen who swooped on his Ibadan home recently and stop searching non-existing places for causes of his travails.
“The police were just doing their lawful duties by searching Folarin’s home.
“The party distances the Ajimobi administration from the search. The police would be failing in their duties if they search for arms and ammunition with which the Tokyo group has been threatening to destabilise Oyo State.
“Folarin and his NURTW accomplices ought to know that the people of our state will resist every relic of violence of the past. Our people, who can now sleep with their eyes closed, will not allow PDP henchmen have another opportunity in Oyo State.”
The ex-lawmaker was reported to have held a meeting with the former leader of National Union of Road Transport Workers  in the state, Alhaji Lateef Akinsola,  popularly called Tokyo.
NAN reports that Folarin on Thursday met with the Commissioner of  Police, Joseph Mbu, behind closed doors for about one hour where he denied the allegation.
Mbu had  also dismissed  the  report  that the police raided Folarin’s home, adding that he was only invited based on security.
