Robbers, Rapists Raid Flood Camps in Nigerian State

Barely a fortnight after rapists were said to have raided the Benue State flood camps, armed robbers have reportedly stormed various camps of flood victims in Delta State and robbed and molestd some of them.

The camps affected were those at Oleh and Cavegina in Warri Metropolis.
Consequently, Delta State government has beefed up security around the various camps to forestall further occurrence. Meanwhile, relief came to the victims at the weekend when Christians and various charitable organizations donated foodstuffs and cash to cushion the hardship they’re facing.

A man of God, Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin, who is also the General Overseer, Christ Mercyland Ministry, while addressing thousands of flood victims at Ogbe-Ijoh, told them not to be discouraged, adding that God has a purpose for anything that is happening. The cleric, who led a team of pastors and hundreds of worshippers to the camp, with eight bags of rice and unspecified amount of money, said the church is very much concerned about the hardship the victims were going through.

According to him, “We are following the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ, who taught us to be our brother’s keeper. Above all, we should be sympathetic to the plight of our dear ones like these flood victims.”
