The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency on Thursday said it had uncovered substances suspected to be methamphetamine inside native clothes called Aso-Oke.
A statement by the Head, Corporate Affairs, NDLEA, Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju, said eight suspected drug traffickers were also apprehended with 10.635kg of narcotics.

He said the arrests and discovery took place at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos.
The drugs recovered comprised 4.460kg of methamphetamine, 4.030kg of heroin and 2.145kg of cocaine.
Ofoyeju said apart from one of the suspects attempting to smuggle 3.455kg of heroin from India, others were going outside the country with different quantities of drugs.

The NDLEA spokesman said one of the suspects, Tembo Gideon, a Nigerian, who was travelling to Thailand with a Zambian passport, concealed 2.522kg of methamphetamine inside aso-oke.
The statement quoted NDLEA Lagos Airport Commander, Mr Hamza Umar, as giving the names of the suspects as Onyekwere Chinedu, 26; Obinna Chigbo, 37; Muogbo Uchechukwu, 25; Tembo Gideon, 25; and Orabusinze Joseph, 28.

Others are Ogbonnaya Robert, 54; Obiorah Nonso, 31; and Udeh Makwe, 44.
The statement said the suspects would be charged to court soon.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the NDLEA, Mr. Ahmadu Giade, has urged members of the public to shun drug trafficking and criminal acts capable of truncating their destinies.

He said, “It is sad that these suspected drug traffickers are behind bars when they ought to be with their families this festive season. Drug trafficking and other criminal acts will only lead to misery, shame and unfulfilled dreams”.
