With over 20 kids abducted in three months in Calabar, the stories surrounding their disappearance are like tales from the moon, but what is happening to kids between the ages of three and six in the Cross River State capital, is far from tales; they are real life incidents which are sending fear down the spine of many parents.

Kyrill Koktysh, an associate professor of Moscow State Institute of International relations with Russia’s Foreign Ministry, in his interview with VoR said that the ‘authorities’ in Kiev have no resources or authority necessary to deal with the protests in Eastern Ukraine. Moreover, neither they nor the EU have any idea on how to deal with this crisis, which became a global problem.

A source in the Ukrainian parliament has told the Russian Interfax news agency that CIA's Director John Brennan has recently visited Ukraine's capital Kiev and had several meetings with representatives of Ukraine's power-wielding agencies.

The person who said this to Interfax in a phone talk added that John Brennan came to Ukraine not under his real name.

Saturday Sun gathered that Pa Oji Okoko, who was not only a notable herb­alist but a leader of some powerful cult groups such as Uke Abaa, Akpan and Ekpe, had warned his family before his death that his corpse should not to be taken to any church for funeral. Four people including a three-year old boy have died after a military helicopter crashed in north-east Namibia, the defence ministry and military sources said today.

The helicopter crashed shortly after take-off early Friday, killing three of the 10 people on board instantly and injuring the toddler, who died later in hospital, military sources said.....

Policemen attached to the Ogun state Police Command Saturday morning arrested two ladies and three men for possessing human heads and some items of human flesh.

The five suspects were apprehended in Joju part of Otta in Ado Odo Ota Local Government Section of Ogun State in a shared operation conducted by the a group from Otta Divisional Police Headquarters led by Mr Gabriel Dibie and the Special Anti Robbery Squad from the Lagos Command.

Unknown number of secondary school students going to Borno state to crewrite ate the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (JAMB) , have reportedly been killed by the Boko Haram sect. The students were among the folks that lost their lives throughout the multiple attacks unleashed in four different communities in Borno;  Dikwa, Kala Balge, Gambulga and Gwoza.

It isn't yet certain, nevertheless the Senator representing Borno Central in the Senate, Zannah Ahmed claims 210 people lost their lives. He also claims that the attackers were wearing the military uniform and they spoke English language  as opposed to the Hausa and Kanuri language spoken by the Boko Haram insurgents. Adesanmoye Kehinde, a senior official of the Nigerian Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Ikotun Lagos branch, has been arrested and dragged to  Ejigbo Magistrate Court in Lagos for allegedly setting his lover, Janet, 31, ablaze after she called off their relationship.

 

Kehinde, 43, who's married with three children, had been dating Delta state born Janet for some time and was planning to marry her. Janet however made a decision to call the affair off because she felt Kehinde was too troublesome. Continue...

The Republic of Crimea and the federal city of Sevastopol, long-standing home base of Russia’s Black Sea naval fleet on the Crimean peninsula, have been included in the list of Russian constituent entities of the country’s Constitution.

A new variant of the Russian fundamental law has been made public at the official internet portal of legal information on Friday.

Two new federal constituent entities have been included in the list in Article 65 of Chapter 3 of the Russian Constitution stipulating federal system of government in the country.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a meeting of the Russian Security Council that Washington's reaction to the letter that he sent to European leaders about the situation in Ukraine was strange. "It's bad to read other people's mail", Putin said. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said during the meeting that the State Department's official spokesperson said in what proved Washington's first reaction to Putin's letter that Russia should not politicize its gas deals with Ukraine and should adhere to market pricing.
