Man burns friend to death for drinking his last 4 cans of beer (Pictured)



This is so sad.. According to report, Two friends are purported to have burned a third man to demise after the buddy consumed the final four containers of beer in the house. Gary Stewart Miles, 40, and Gregory John Channing, 41, are accused of murdering Henry John Press in Darwin in September a year ago after having a row.


Kogi Policemen Shot at Governor Convoy That Killed Festus Iyayi ?



An anonymous tipster has confided in SaharaReporters that Festus Iyayi, a former president of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), was actually shot by policemen in the convoy of the Kogi State Governor, Captain Idris Wada, prior to the road accident in which he supposedly died last week.

The source claimed that the injuries found on the late writer's chest were consistent with gunshot injuries and that a bullet did pierce his heart.
One Dr. Paul Amodu of the Specialist Hospital in Lokoja had revealed that Professor Iyayi died after "something" pierced his chest, but he didn't specify what it was.

Nigerian Man Now The President of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO)



Nigerian representative, Dr Olumide Bernard Aliu has been elected and sworn in as President of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). Nigeria scored an overall total of 149 votes in the General Assembly meeting which held in Canada recently. The newly elected ICAO president pictured above addressing council members at a reception held in his honour by Saudi Arabia after the election.

Another Nigerian Student Nabbed during a Contract Marriage in the UK



 
28year old Nigerian student Louis Esene and his 22 year old 'bride'were nabbed during their bogus wedding once the registrar noticed they certainly were uncomfortable with each other.
An untrue bride was caught out because she'flinched'when her phoney husband-to-be touched her knee in a register office. Emilia Ginova, 22, was jailed today for posing as a blushing bride ready to walk up the aisle with her groom.
But a court heard Ginova had only first seen Nigerian student Louis Esene on the afternoon of the service - and was being paid £3,000 to take part in the sham marriage. She was caught out by an eagle-eyed registrar who spotted her shocked reaction when Esene, 28, reached out to touch her leg.

Golden Eaglets defender Friday Njengo has passed on after more than nine months in hospital bedfollowing a road accident which took place on February 3rd. The accident, which occurred at the Dan Anacha Village in Taraba State as the players travelled from Jalingo to Calabar via a commercial bus, took place at a time the player, alongside teammate Adamu Abubakar were embarking on a journey for the first phase of the camping for the African Championship.

TERRIBLE: Boy,13, Eliminates His Pal In Kogi For DAMAGING His EARPIECE.




A 13-year-old boy has been apprehended by the police in Kogi after reports emerged that he had killed his 12-year-old friend.


Yinusa Halilu, allegedly took  the life of  Mustapha Kazeem, his friend and classmate, after the latter damaged his earpiece.

The development was revealed to newsmen yesterday by the Acting Commissioner of Police in the state,  Austin Evakhabokun.

Man Caught Stealing Offering Inside Mountain of Fire Church.



A man, who apparently has no job to enable him feed himself, has been sentenced to spend one year in prison after he was found guilty of stealing from the Mountain of Fire and Miracles church.

Police prosecutor, Sergeant Simon Ibrahim told the court that the convict was a habitual offender and had stolen from the same church in 2012. Sergeant Ibrahim said:

Governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi has accused the Finance Minister, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala of stifling a loan facility granted to the state for provision of potable water by the World Bank and the African Development Bank (ADB).

Amaechi, who was speaking during the 2nd Retreat of a faction of the Nigeria Governors' Forum he chairs, wondered why the minister "who by international standards, is recognised around the world has refused to sign off for us to provide water for Rivers people".

ASUU STRIKE UPDATE: ASUU’s NEC Meeting Still Indefinite



The ASUU leader of University of Ibadan, Dr. Olusegun Ajiboye has denied reports claiming the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU was to hold it's National Executives Committee meeting yesterday as False.

According to him he claimed that there was no plan for such meeting.  Dr. Olusegun Ajiboye claimed that the report which made rounds on Saturday, that the National Executive Council, NEC, would hold an emergency meeting in Kano, were false.

Bullet proof Cars: Panel Publish Result, Suggest 3-year Jail Terms For Stella Oduah.



Bullet Proof Cars: The House Committee on Aviation which investigated the purchase of two armoured BMW cars for the aviation minister, Stella Oduah at the rate of N255m has submitted its report.  

 Oduah should face the consequence of spending public money on unbudgeted expenditure such as the purchase of the cars: a three-year jail term and a fine of N100, 000. These are part of recommendations of the report of the House Committee on Aviation.
