Corruption of Power : North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un, publically executes ex-girlfriend



On August 8th, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un was in the audience to applaud his ex-girlfriend Hyon Song- wol (right), a singer with the Unhasu National Orchestra. 9 days later a group of artists were arrested for allegedly making a sex tape. His ex was one of them. They were publicly executed by firing squad on August 20th, while their families were condemned to a labor camp.

The North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un ordered the public execution of his ex-girlfriend Hyon Song- wol, accused of 'pornography' with a group of artists from the National Orchestra of Unhasu, which his current wife Ri Sol -ju also once belonged to. The arrest took place on August 17, the execution took place in public three days later. According to the indictment the women filmed themselves having sex and then sold the videos in China. Some South Korean sources claim that there were many Christians among those sentenced to death who had a Bible at home, a "crime" that you can pay for with your life or imprisonment in a state gulag in North Korea.

15 year-old girl allegedly abducted by Islamic fundamentalists and given out in marriage to one of their own



Madam Jessy Ukeje, a 77-year-old grandmother from Eluoma Uzuakoli in Bende Local government area of Abia State, is in pains. So also is her daughter, Joy Ihedinma Ukeje.
Mama Jessy’s granddaughter, (Joy’s daughter) Rita Chinedu Ukeje, 15, was allegedly abducted by Islamic fundamentalists and given out in marriage to one of their own. Since then, the family has been in untold distress.

Now, Mrs. Ukeje is calling on President Goodluck Jonathan to help rescue the girl from the clutches of her abductors. Ukeje said her granddaughter was given out in marriage by a top official of Zaria City Local Government area, without the consent of her family.

Rita, an SS 3 student of Top Spring Secondary School, Zaria, Kaduna State, was abducted by a commercial bus driver, called Usman, who held her captive in his home, denying her the chance of sitting for the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) she had enrolled for.

R.I.P: 32 year old man ra-pes 70yr-old woman to death



UMUAHIA- A 70 year old woman and mother of four, Mrs. Cecilia Ogidi-Okereke, of Ibom Village in Arochukwu, Arochukwu Council Area of Abia State was last Sunday reportedly raped to death by a 32 year old man whose name was simply given as Ochu.

According to a source, Cecilia was said to have around 5pm Sunday, gone to a nearby bush to get some leaves for her domestic goats where Ochu trailed her and raped her to dath. Ochu,the source said, is  believed to be a drug addictand was fond of railing and raping women of the area.

Group views Ohaneze’s claims on Lagos as insult on Yoruba




A socio cultural group, Oodua Solidarity Forum, has condemned the Ohaneze claim  published on Tuesday August 6, 2013, in the Daily Sun as not only insult to the Yoruba, but also an affront just as it decry the attacks, threaths on Femi Fani-Kayode and  his failmy.

The group in a satement signed by the group’s National Coordinator, Olajide Julius and made available to Vanguard viewed the  Ohaneze claim  that  “The Igbo are key stakeholders in the affairs of the state (Lagos). We constitute over 46% of the population of the state…It is the Igbo that make Lagos what it is and without them Lagos will go to sleep. The Igbo in Lagos have the capacity to defend themselves…”. published on Tuesday August 6, 2013, in the Daily Sun as not only insult to the Yoruba, but also an affront.

Young Shall Grow Motor Boss Attacked In Festac, Driver & escort Killed



The CEO of The Young Shall Grow Motors, Chief Vincent Obianodo, was attacked by suspected assassins on Tuesday night August 27th on 22 Road in Festac Town, Lagos, killing his driver and police escort. He narrowly escaped death.  The multimillionaire businessman was returning home from work on Tuesday night when an SUV double-crossed his vehicle in a lonely area, and some armed men opened fire on Chief Obianodo's car. His orderly who attempted to fire back was killed, his driver who was trying to escape was also killed while Chief Obianodo was shot in the arm.

Ecobank Staff Dies After Having $-ex With 21yrs old Lover In Abakaliki



A banker with EcoBank, Abakaliki branch, Mr. Boniface Ndukaku, was found dead in a hotel after having sex with his 21-year-old girlfriend.
According to Telegraphng, Ebonyi State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP Sylvester Igbo, confirmed that the deceased was in the hotel for an extra-marital affair, and that his 21-year-old escort was now in police custody helping them in the investigation of the matter.

Gov Suntai's letter to Taraba Assembly; Femi Falana demands police investigation



Senior lawyer and political activist, Femi Falana (SAN), yesterday sent a petition to the Inspector General of Police demanding a detailed investigation of the letter purportedly sent to the Taraba State House of Assembly by Governor Danbaba Suntai yesterday indicating he is ready to resume office.

Governor Suntai returned to Nigeria on Sunday after 10 months away receiving treatment and rehabilitation for serious brain injuries he received when an aircraft he was piloting crashed in October 2012.  Reports say he appeared bewildered and uncoordinated as he arrived, needing help and not speaking.

Okorocha, Catholic Health practitioners At Conflict Over Abortion Law



Imo State governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha, and Catholic Medical Practitioners Association are at daggers-drawn over the abortion bill the former just signed into law.
The law, among others, permits women to procure abortion at will. Sponsored by the Majority Leader and member representing Ahiazu Mbaise state constituency, Mrs. Adekunle Ihuoma, the law is to be cited as “Imo State of Nigeria, Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Law Number 12 of 2012”.

Governor Suntai Dissolves Cabinet, Makes New Appointments



Reports reaching us from Jalingo say that the Taraba state governor, Danbaba Suntai has dissolved the state executive council. All special advisers also have been seen off the premises; special assistants' positions, however, remain intact. Also, Governor Suntai, whose actions now are heavily scrutinized by the general public and his fellow politicians, has endorsed the appointments of Mr. Timothy Katap as the new Secretary to State Government (SSG), and Mallam Aminu Jika as the new Chief of Staff. This is the second time that Mr. Jika is being appointed as the Chief of Staff to Mr. Suntai. He was first appointed when Mr. Suntai took office in 2007.  All commissioners have been directed to hand over to their respective permanent secretaries while the special advisers are to hand over to the Government House -

Man Faces Trial For Using The President's Poster As Toilet Paper



A Zimbabwean man recently landed himself in trouble after he allegedly used President Robert Mugabe's campaign material as toilet paper, a report said on Wednesday.
According to the report, the man appeared in court last week charged with violating the electoral act or, alternatively, destruction of political material.  A public prosecutor told the court that on 24 July this year, Takura Mufumusi entered a bar toilet in Masvingo with the intention to relieve himself. While inside, he was spotted by the informant, tearing up Mugabe's poster which he found inside and allegedly using it as toilet paper. The informant immediately effected a citizen's arrest on Mufumusi and took him to a police station. Court papers, however, did not state if Mufumusi was arrested after he had already relieved himself. Magistrate Tinashe Ndokera adjourned the matter indefinitely as the State could not identify the witness. -

US probably to launch strike against Syria on Friday night - Western Media ( War Designers)



Any US strike against Syria is "likely to last hours not days" and probably would not come before the British Parliament votes on military action Thursday, a senior US defense official said.
Sources tell Fox that a strike would be led by the U.S. Navy and its assets positioned in the Eastern Mediterranean and that it would be limited in scope.

FRAUDULENT WAR: US condemns chemical attack in Syria, but they did the same earlier in Iraq




Lately US President Barack Obama claimed the ‘red line’ for the US to consider a more definitive response against the Syrian regime would be “seeing a whole bunch of chemical weapons moving around or being utilized”. At the same time there is evidence that the US themselves used weapons containing poisonous chemical substances during its invasion in Iraq. More than that, Great Britain, a long-time US’s ally, supported the North American nation in that. Another US’s ally, Israel, has also been spotted in the use of chemical weapons.

Syrian rebels used chemical weapons Says Carla del Ponte



Testimony from victims strongly suggests it was the rebels, not the Syrian government, that used Sarin nerve gas during a recent incident in the revolution-wracked nation, a senior UN diplomat said Monday.
Carla del Ponte, a member of the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria, told Swiss TV there were "strong, concrete suspicions but not yet incontrovertible proof," that rebels seeking to oust Syrian strongman Bashar al-Assad had used the nerve agent.
But she said her panel had not yet seen any evidence of Syrian government forces using chemical weapons, according to the BBC, but she added that more investigation was needed.

Western countries are behaving in the Islamic world like a "monkey with a grenade," a Russian deputy prime minister said on Tuesday, as the United States and its allies mull the use of force against Syria.
"The West behaves towards the Islamic world like a monkey with a grenade," Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, who is known for his sharp tongue, wrote on Twitter.

Two Killed, One Injured In Abuja Building Collapse



No fewer than two persons were feared dead in a building collapse on Tuesday, in Abuja while another person was critically injured and receiving treatment in the hospital. Confirming the incident, Information Officer of National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Mr. Sani Datti, said, three people were casting concrete at an uncompleted building behind Dunes Plaza in Maitaima, Abuja, when suddenly the concrete collapsed and trapped them.

After the relevant emergency agencies rescued the trapped workers, two people were feared dead and one person was critically injured and was rushed to the hospital.  The two people that died were identified as Hamza and Friday, while Ganiyu Akande who was critically injured had been taken to the hospital.

FG to complete 11 power plants by 2014



The Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku, has said all the 11 power plants being constructed by the Federal Government will be completed before the end of the first quarter of 2014.
Maku stated this on Monday while fielding questions from journalists after the Peoples Democratic Party stakeholders’ meeting in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
He said seven out of the power plants had so far been completed, while efforts were being intensified to complete others before the end of the first quarter of 2014.

Suntai writes assembly, seeks to resume duty



RECUPERATING Governor Danbaba Suntai may have sent a letter to the Taraba State House of Assembly  seeking to resume  work.
The letter, according to a United States- based Nigerian online news portal,SaharaReporters, was  on Monday  received by the Speaker of the House of Assembly,Haruna Tsokwa.

 The portal did not say exactly when the letter was written and the day the governor, who arrived in the country from the US after a 10-month medical sojourn, hoped to commence duties.

Police bullet kills 60-year-old deejay, wife demands justice



Wife of a 60-year-old deejay, Adamson Bello, who was killed last Sunday by a stray bullet fired by a policeman attached to the Okokomaiko Police Division, Lagos State, has called for justice.
Modinatu, 50,  said the police did not only shoot her husband, they also frustrated efforts to get him medical treatment because the family could not obtain a police report demanded by the hospital.
Modinatu, who was married to the late deejay for 30 years before the relationship was terminated by the police bullet, explained to PUNCH Metro that Adamson was hit in the chest a few metres from their house.
Our correspondent learnt that the shot was fired by one of the policemen guarding a new hotel in the area, South Bound Hotel.
