Why We Must Rally Round Amaechi – Tinubu

Leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN , Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu has urged support for Governor Chibuke Amaechi of Rivers State from the hierarchy of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who he claimed, have added public brawling to their achievements.

In a statement issued by his media office last night, Tinubu described the ensuing crisis in Rivers State as an orchestrated plan that is in line with the PDP’s definition of democracy where minority opinion prevails over majority. He thus warned that Nigerians must rally round the embattled governor and chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, NGF, to ensure that democracy is not re-defined.

He cited the recent election for the chairman of the NGF and the quest of five members of the Rivers State legislature to dominate the others as illustrations of how far the PDP would go to achieve its aims even against reason.

10 Ways Ladies Flirt That Men Don’t Notice

Flirting is like a sport, it takes a while to master and properly develop. Men are confusing creatures and sometimes don’t notice all the ways that women flirt.
If you don’t make the opposite s*x aware that you are flirting, there is a good chance they’ll have no idea. Here are the top 10 ways women flirt with men that they don’t notice. After all, some men can be a little clueless.
1. Body Language
Body language is difficult for some men to understand. One would think that ‘crossing and uncrossing your legs’ is a pretty obvious flirting method, especially if you’re wearing a pair of really high heels. It’s a very sexy approach, but some men are too insensitive to realize its considered flirting! If you flirt using body language, you should think of a different approach that all men pick up on. Try a method that involves body contact, like brushing his arm if he makes a funny joke.

Armored Personnel Carrier Deployed To Guard Patience Jonathan’s Guest House In Bayelsa

A few days after the Goodluck Jonathan administration withdrew operatives of the Joint Task Force assigned to protect Government House in Rivers State, SaharaReporters has learnt that the president’s wife, Patience Jonathan, is using soldiers to guard her private guest house in Yenogoa, the capital of Bayelsa State.

Earlier this week, the Presidency ordered the withdrawal of JTF operatives guarding the official residence of Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi as a political feud between the governor, on the one hand, and President Jonathan and his wife, on the other, intensified. There was chaos in the chambers of the Rivers State legislature as four state law makers tied to the president and First Lady attempted, but failed, to impeach the speaker. In the aftermath of a bloody confrontation, the Jonathan administration pulled Mr. Amaechi’s security apparatus, which is controlled by the Federal Government.

More than 7 foods that age you faster than your age!

In his book, The Antioxidant Prescription, Dr. Bryce Wylde addresses what science has discovered to be the true underlying cause of disease: free radicals. Avoid the damage by keeping these 10 foods and ingredients out of your diet.

1. Fast Food
You don’t need me to go into more detail about fast foods. Avoid ’em

2. Hydrogenated Fats
As we all know by now, these fats must be avoided because they cause heart disease. They’ve been used for years in snack foods, bakery items and margarine. Avoid buying cookies, crackers, baked goods or anything else that has hydrogenated oil or trans-fats on the ingredients list.

3. Olestra
Olestra is a synthetic fat used to make non-fat potato chips and other snacks. You’d think, with all the bad rap fat has garnered, a non-fat fat would be great. But Olestra has been shown to bind with fat-soluble vitamins A, E, D and K and carotenoids—our invaluable antioxidant nutrients—and to eliminate them from the system.

Rivers crisis can lead to revolution –Deputy Speaker

The Deputy Speaker, Rivers State House of Assembly, Kwanee Leyii, in this interview with CHUKWUDI AKASIKE, commends the National Assembly for intervening in the crisis rocking the state
HOW would you describe the intervention of the National Assembly in the crisis rocking the Rivers State House of Assembly?
It is constitutionally permissible and they are acting in line with the 1999 Constitution as amended. It is a welcome development. If you recall, at various fora, I have always bared my mind that the current Assembly under the leadership of Mr. Otelemaba Amachree has been very mindful that we do not play into the game plan of certain anti-democratic elements, who are, at all cost, trying to frustrate the present democratic governance. With the intervention of the National Assembly, I think it is a welcome development. It will permit time for this crisis to die down.

A civil rights group, Anti-Corruption Network, on Saturday threatened that the Presidency should prepare for the “Egyptian treatment.”

Boko Haram Denies Ceasefire With Government

The leader of the Nigerian Islamist militant group Boko Haram denied that it entered into a ceasefire agreement with the government and endorsed an attack last week on a school in northeast Yobe state.
Bloomberg reports that Abubakar Shekau, in a video message sent to reporters on Saturday, denied claims by the Minister of Special Duties Kabiru Turaki this week that a ceasefire was reached on July 8 after talks with the group’s deputy leader, Mohammed Marwan.
“Let me assure you that we will not enter into any truce with these infidels,” Shekau said. “We will not enter into any truce with the Nigerian government.”
Boko Haram, whose name means “western education is a sin” in the Hausa language, has killed thousands of people in gun and bomb attacks since 2009 in the mainly Muslim North and Abuja in its campaign to establish an Islamic state in Africa’s largest oil producer. Nigeria’s more than 160 million people are roughly split between Christians, predominant in the south, and Muslims, mostly in the north.
