7 Men Gang molest 29-Year-Old Married Woman On A Bus In New Delhi, India



In an incident similar to a sexual assault that sent shock waves worldwide, Indian police say a woman was gang-molestd over the weekend by seven men after she boarded a bus at night. Police arrested six suspects, including the bus driver, after the alleged Friday night attack in Gurdaspur district in Punjab. A manhunt for the other man was under way Sunday.

A lawyer, Benson Enikuomehin has asked the leadership of the National Assembly to find a way of sanctioning corrupt lawmakers.
Mr Enikuomehin, who was speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s programme, Sunrise Daily, said: "Just like a doctor would cut off cancerous part of the body to prevent the disease from spreading, so also persons who bring the hallow chambers to disrupt should not be taken with gloved hands."

5-year-old boy sent away from school for having long hair (PICTURED)




The school, Roberts Road Elementary, in Hockley had turned away a 5-year-old boy for sporting a long hair during enrollment, as reported by local news, Thursday, January 10. The boy’s mother, Ursula Martin, said that her son’s hair was not a problem in the previous school that he came from. The family had just moved to Hockley. Martin could not understand how the length of his son’s hair could affect his education. Martin said: “He doesn’t feel like he should have to cut his hair to go to school.”

12 Policemen Killed, Two Injured in Lagos, Kano



It was another black weekend for officers of the Nigeria Police Force, as armed robbers allegedly killed about 10 of them in different parts of Lagos State. In Kano State, the story was also the same as some unidentified gunmen allegedly shot dead two policemen and injured two others at Kawo Tishama, an outskirt of Kano metropolis.
The death of the policemen, it was gathered, had increased the recent death toll of officers, who died in the course of duty within the last two years to 42.

Imo Deputy Gov Aide Kidnapped, Murdered




The protocol officer to the Imo State Deputy Governor, Chief Laz Anyanwu was yesterday evening found dead in Owerri four days after he was reportedly kidnapped near Government House, Owerri, the Imo State capital.
Anyanwu, a former director of administration and services in Ohaji-Egbema Local Government Area was discovered dead along a bush path at Nwaoriebe in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State yesterday afternoon.

Ikeja City Mall on fire



Ikeja City Mall, Lagos, which many refer to by the name of popular supermarket, Shoprite, is on fire.
One of the stores in the Mall, Mr. Price, is ablaze. Shoppers at the mall, which was recently opened, panicked when the fire broke out. However, efforts are on to put out the fire. It was learnt that the response of the Lagos State Fire Service, which has an office at the back of the shopping mall, responded promptly. It was learnt that the fire broke out around 11am. Mr. Price is located close to Entrance 1 of the mall. The entire mall has been evacuated as at press time.

An aide of billionaire business woman, Mrs Folorunsho Alakija, and six others have been arrested by EFCC for forgery, impersonation and stealing N3 million from Mrs Alakija's foundation, Rose of Sharon.

Vincent Ayewah (pictured above centre) conspired with six others to allegedly steal cheques and withdraw money meant for the beneficiaries of the Rose of Sharon Foundation. Mrs Alakija, who petitioned the EFCC, alleged that Vincent forged cheques of the foundation’s Stanbic IBTC Bank Account and got his sister Miss Florence Ayewah  (pictured above, right) and their friends to cash the forged cheques by presenting them with fake identity cards.

Viewers of a Swedish news channel got more than they bargained for while watching a sober report on Syria’s president Bashar al-Assad, as a porn film played on a studio screen in the background.   The incident took place during a Monday broadcast on 24-hour Swedish news channelTV4 News as the presenter was interviewing the station’s Moscow correspondent.  

Police Found corpses of women in ritualists’ den



Police detectives in Asaba, the Delta State capital have uncovered a hideout/operational base of suspected ritualists with scores of unidentified corpses of women.
The police command spokesman, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Famous Ajieh, said the detectives acted on a tip-off to swoop on the suspects in their operational base in Okpanam village where four of them were arrested. The police, he said, found scores of mutilated and decomposed bodies of women.

US University Honours Obasanjo




An African Institute has been established by Valparaiso University in Indiana, United States in honour of Nigeria’s former leader, Olusegun Obasanjo.
The institute, which was inaugurated on Saturday, would serve as a cultural exchange centre between it and Nigeria in particular and Africa at large. It will also serve as an exchange and resource centre for professional studies of Nigerian/African commerce and culture among students, artists, writers, educators and politicians. Speaking at the ceremony, Obasanjo identified corruption, insecurity, and infrastructure decay as major problems confronting the Africa.

Such a sad day. Brain tumour patient, Ibezim Jude Osemeke has lost his battle with cancer. He died this morning in Jos where he had been recuperating after his surgery in India. He returned from India in November and had been doing well until a few weeks ago when he relapsed.

Arepo: Bodies of vandals float on creeks





The bodies of four suspected vandals were found at the scene of Saturday’s pipeline explosion at Arepo, Ogun State on Sunday. 
The bodies, which were found in the swamp around the explosion site, had little sign of burns.Even though the fire had reduced when our correspondents got to the scene on Sunday, emergency workers said the situation was still precarious as there was need to completely put out the fire.Spokesperson of the National Emergency Management Agency, Ibrahim Farinloye, said evacuation of the bodies would begin later on Sunday.
