Germany Ready to Help Ukraine, Iraq Despite Problems With Armed Forces: Defense Minister

Germany is able to assist Ukraine and Iraq, despite problems within its own armed forces, German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen told ARD.

The conflicts in Ukraine and Iraq are calling for Germany to take responsibility and it is ready to do so, von der Leyen said in an interview with German public broadcaster ARD on Saturday.
German media have previously reported equipment problems within the Bundeswehr, Germany's armed forces, because of which the country had temporary difficulties, fulfilling its military duties.
According to the defense minister, the problems are related to the late delivery of spare parts for aircraft and the technical failure of some helicopters belonging to the naval forces. These problems are not solely due to her own faults, she stated, but also to the mistakes of the defense industry.

Lavrov: US Base Their Statements on Ukraine on Unverified Facts or Framing-Up

The US statements on the situation in Ukraine are based on unverified facts or framing-up, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview to Rossiya-1 and RT TV channels.

“The United States, at least over the situation In Ukraine, base their public statements – I will not speak about real politics now – but their public statements they base on unverified facts, or on framing-up, when they show a crashed helicopter and it turns out that it happened not in Ukraine, but in Syria. And there is a lot of such facts, when the false data was used in order to make some public statements, to call for some steps,” Lavrov said.

Why Ukraine Will Never Retake Crimea

Written especially for Russia Insider

The Ukrainian Defense Minister Valerii Geletei is hardly a credible figure.

Not only did he recently declare that Russia had threatened the Ukraine with nuclear strikes, he even told a Ukrainian journalist that Russia had already executed two tactical nuclear strikes on the city of Lugansk (apparently to explain why the Ukrainian forces had to retreat from there). The Junta later denied the story and blamed it on the journalist who first published it.

The much-anticipated prisoner swap between Ukrainian security forces and militia in the breakaway republic of Donetsk is underway 30 kilometers to the north of the region’s capital city Donetsk, a RIA Novosti correspondent reports.

The swap follows a groundbreaking ceasefire agreement in Belarus' capital Minsk on September 5 where Ukraine, Russia and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) agreed to exchange all captives held by Kiev and militias in the breakaway eastern regions, in what they described as an “all-for-all” prisoner exchange.

Ukraine Crisis: Donbass. Chronicle of Genocide (Video)

Russian Foreign Ministry Statement On The Start Of The Delivery Of Humanitarian Relief Aid To Southeastern Ukraine

The endless delays hampering the initial deliveries of the Russian humanitarian relief aid to southeastern Ukraine have become intolerable.

A lorry convoy with many hundreds of tonnes of humanitarian relief aid, urgently needed by the people in these regions, has been standing idle for a week now on the Russian-Ukrainian border. Over this period, the Russian side has made unprecedented efforts in all areas and at all levels in order to complete the required formalities. We have met all conceivable and inconceivable demands of the Ukrainian side and have submitted to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) exhaustive lists of food, drinking water, medications, essential items and diesel generators due to be delivered to Lugansk, where they are urgently needed by women, children and the elderly.

US Started Wars in Ukraine, Syria, for Gas, Not Democracy

Could gas and oil be the cause of wars started by the US in Ukraine and Syria? The Burning Point is discussing it with Dr. Konstantin Kholodilin, based at the German Institute for Economic Research, and Alastair Crooke, the founder and director of the Conflicts Forum.

According to Michael T. Klare, the author of "The Race for What’s Left" (2012), if you scan the planet for conflict, “what you’ll find from Syria and Iraq to the South China Sea are a series of energy wars -- fossil-fuel conflicts to be exact”.  These armed conflict are launched under shaky pretexts and increasingly cynical in handling.  Iraq, Libya, Sudan have already been ripped apart. Syria is still fighting…  Now - Ukraine…

The violations include detentions, kidnapping, tortures and killing of people, including women and children.
