Armed group kills 10 in central Nigeria - official





Feb 22 (Reuters) - Armed men shot or hacked to death 10 people in a village in central Nigeria's Plateau state, a government official and witness said on Friday, in a region with a long history of ethnic violence.
Men carrying rifles and machetes stormed Kogom village on Thursday afternoon, killing six adults and four children, said Habila Musa, who witnessed the attack. He said some of the killers were dressed in military uniform.

Brave guard kills armed robber with bandits’ gun



A security man, Joseph Ogbor, attached to Tonimas Filling Station along Okuku Road in Ogoja, Cross River State, has killed an armed robber with a gun brought by the bandit to raid the station.
Manager of the station, who identified himself simply as Sunny, said some robbers came in at about 2am last Friday, armed with machetes and guns to cart away “the money we made.”
Sunny, who spoke with our correspondent on Monday, said, “When they got here our security man confronted them and they got angry and descended on him. He had fractures on his right leg and skull.”

Mild Drama At Armed Forces Remembrance Day As OBJ Refuses To Lay Wreath




There was a mild drama at the armed forces remembrance day held at Arcade ground in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, when former President Olusegun Obasanjo shunned the traditional wreath laying ceremony.Obasanjo who was clad in a white flowing Agbada with a traditional blue cap,  shunned the State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun’s  request to lay a wreath.The mild episode ensued when his name was mentioned as part of the dignitaries that would lay the wreath and he vehemently rejected after he was persuaded by the governor.

Petrol Station Attendant In Police Net After Conniving With Armed Robbers To Rob Boss Of N2.65 Million





A petrol station attendant in Kano State has landed in police net after allegedly conniving with armed robbers to rob the petrol station where he works; and the sum of N2.65 million stolen by the armed bandits has been recovered.
This was made known in a statement signed by the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) ASP Magaji Musa Majia, a copy which was made available to Sunday Tribune. According to the statement: On 20th of December, 2012 at about 09:00hrs, one Monday Joseph ‘m’ 20yrs, Simon Chile Adamu ‘m’ of 22yrs old of Benue State and Umaru Adamu ‘m’ 22 years of Ankpa Kogi State conspired and stormed a filling station at Tudun Wada area of Kano State with armed pistol and robbed the manager of the sum of N2.65m. The robbers also allegedly snatched the mobile phones of all the staff then fled in a Golf car.

Two Nigerians Docked For Hacking Into Ghana’s Armed Forces E-mails





Two Nigerians have been arrested for allegedly attempting to divert $13,978 belonging to, Ghanaian peacekeepers after they had succeeded in hacking into the e-mails of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).
The suspects, Peter Okechukwu, 32, and Emmanuel Ifedi, 31, were arrested by officials of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service at a branch of the United Bank of Africa (UBA) in Accra where they had gone to cash the money.
